At Hannah's Art School, we decided to start up a summer program for kids. We divided the summer program into 4 separate and themed sessions. For the first session, the theme was Global Landscape. The students learned about different types of land forms and water forms around the world, and chose to focus on Coral Reefs. We studied about the geological features of the reef, Polyps, Photosynthesis, Ecosystem, types of coral reefs, why and what we can do to help save them. We also discussed questions involving number sequencing, puzzles, verbal anologies, categorizing, and many more! Everyday was filled with critical thinking, Q & As, writing, making, visualizing, drawing, painting, cutting, pasting, presenting, and of course, we did not forget to take a short break with healthy snack in between. We also visited a museum to see an actual Coral Reef, and on the final day, we presented to our parents with two weeks of creation--our own Coral Reef!
Hello! Welcome, and I hope you stay awhile! My name is Hannah. I have spent two decades exploring the wonders of art. Whether as a student, in the privacy of my home, or sharing with children and parents--art has always been an important part of me. Recently, an emphasis of my art has dealt with children. In this blog, I'll share my recent projects, classroom instruction, and the work of my students. I hope you will be inspired, and if you are, I hope you visit often. Happy Blogging!
